Kehinde Wiley: Ship of Fools celebrates one of our most acclaimed living painters. Known for his highly naturalistic portraits, Wiley challenges conventional views of power, taste and privilege by portraying people of colour as celebrated figures. We’re proud to present his first film installation, the three-channel digital film projection Narrenschiff (German for ‘Ship of Fools’). The title is derived from a 15th-century book by German theologian Sebastian Brant, a copy of which will also be on display. This exhibition is curated by The Box in partnership with The Arts Institute, University of Plymouth and Royal Museums Greenwich
