Social Making SOUP was an event held in April by Take A Part, supported by Visual Arts Plymouth and The Box. It was based on the SOUP funding model; bringing people together, eating soup whilst hearing presentations from projects looking for funding, then voting to decide which to support.
Social making SOUP supported two projects for Plymouth Art Weekender. They are Imperfect Orchestra and Flo Brooks.
For Plymouth Art Weekender Imperfect Orchestra have created Plymphony No.1, a live soundtrack composition conducted by Immersive Orchestra and performed by an all-inclusive guitar ensemble on Plymouth Hoe. The project is in collaboration with Shannon Watson whose performance will see a participatory group of wild swimmers on Plymouth Hoe conducting Plymphony No.1 from the sea.
