Open Studio: Karanjit Panesar
Plymouth Arts Centre, 38 Looe Street, Plymouth, PL4 0EB (Studio entrance on Batter Street)

Karanjit Panesar (born 1992) is based in Bristol. His work uses text, sculpture and video to explore matter and material. During his five week residency in the Batter Street Studio, Panesar is developing new work following on from Peel a Soft-edged Slice of Time, a video combining filmed and found footage through chroma key, often referred to as ‘green screen’ production.

Panesar is also co-founder of East Bristol Contemporary, lockjaws* magazine and CHAMP, Bristol.

Plymouth Arts Centre’s residency programme is designed to support artists both practically and critically by offering free studio space, accommodation, mentoring sessions and peer critique across a short but vital period of time in the development of new work. This five week residency for a South West artist has been supported by Plymouth Culture
