The story so
The story so far… an ongoing body of work in flux. This exhibition promises a fun, playful and serious exploration of the complex story of female breasts. Probing this, Exeter based artist Rebecca D. Harris investigates how we respond to the craft and materials of the artworks within the subject of the enchanting, repulsive, diseased, aged, sexualised and functional human mammaries.
Although this is the collection’s second showing, there is something unique for each location as the artist develops, edits and responds to how the audience previously engaged and the stories they shared. Furthermore, Rebecca aims to create additional artworks inspired by workshops with mastectomy patients at Derriford hospital prior to the show. There are many voices to be heard and the artist aims to keep adding them as she tours the show.
‘This is a show that keeps on giving, with layers to mine and moments to plunge you into really deep empathetic sympathetic states‘ Stuart Crewes, AWE creative director
