Event Details

A collaborative exhibition featuring 3 current illustration students from Plymouth University, and 2 HOT’17 graduates from Fine Art and Illustration. A diverse range of themes are revealed through an intimate collection. The exhibition identifies elements of young adult life in the 21st century, specifically that of 5 individuals that happen to have migrated to Plymouth, and be in their 20’s. Some of the works explore the female experience as a 21st-century woman, showing motifs of controversy, sexuality, rights and the body. Other pieces include digital mystical portraiture and product design. Music and culture are also prevalent subjects, conveyed through both digital and illustrative processes. These subjects are presented via clothing and poster designs, individual portraits, and selected drawings. Small sculptures exploring the Anthropocene – our current geological age – will also be present; raising concerns around sustainability, and the negative impact of humans on the planet and its ecosystems.
