Event Details

The sea is the connecting liquid of the world; by immersing ourselves in it we are universally open to its energy, danger and collective histories.

Formed from both domestic and maritime flotation devices Buoys and Girls is an installation of made and altered objects that will inhabit the space of the school playground. These objects examine the buoyant capacity of our bodies and the disparate feelings of fear and bliss we might experience when moving through open water.

A series of drawings documenting the body suspended in water will also be on display inside the school building. Taking influence from nautical charts and diagrams these drawings explore our relationship to water as a migratory substance.

Exhibition runs 23rd-24th September
