Event Details

In 2014, plans to redevelop Bretonside Bus Station into ‘Drake Leisure’ inspired us to make an artwork about the existing community of Bretonside, which we have shared and enjoyed with local people for over 20 years. Our intention is to portray Bretonside both visually and sonically through paintings and recorded sound works.

The artwork will culminate in a final exhibition located in the City Centre, having been showcased at other venues across Plymouth in the run up and Plymouth Art Weekender 2017 will feature the latest works in this project.

The intention is that dialogue created by the artwork will contribute to a conversation around the subject of ‘change’ in Plymouth, highlighting the perception and enjoyment of space and place alongside cultural identity and encourage reflection on some of the people and businesses that made up this community and their role in Plymouth’s social history.
